Back then I was inspired by some exciting encaustic work, seen on regular walks past a local gallery window after-hours. This led to experiments; melting candles in a cobbled together copper enamelling set-up given to me by my grandfather and adding paint... Not the safest practise, I now know, but it got me started and I later discovered cold wax. I also rarely use brushes anymore, in favour of squeegees and found objects as tools!

I am curious how each show the scars of their history, as a unique and colourful patina. In exploring this inspiration through my ART, I have left paintings outside and exposed to inclement weather to see how this affects them. I have also used air, uv rays and fire, as well as cleaning products, coffee and even cooking spices in creating.
